City of Airdrie Elections are administered independently and impartially by Legislative Services. The City Clerk is appointed as the Returning Officer for all elections.
General elections for the City of Airdrie Council are held for the offices of Mayor (one position) and Councillor (six positions).
General elections are held every four years. The next general municipal election will be on Oct. 20, 2025
In the 2025 Airdrie Election, you can become a candidate for mayor or councillor.
Candidates who plan to run in the 2025 general election can only accept campaign contributions and incur campaign expenses once their notice of intent is complete.
A prospective candidate can submit their notice of intent any time during the campaign period.
