Nov. 12, Airdrie, AB – The City of Airdrie is excited to announce the opening of NE Regional Park, a new green space designed to serve as a destination for sports, recreation and cultural gatherings in northeast Airdrie. The soft opening on Nov. 30, 2024, invites residents and stakeholders to enjoy the park’s initial amenities, including walking trails and a seasonal skating loop.
“NE Regional Park is an investment in Airdrie’s future, a space where our community can connect with nature and celebrate together,” said Mayor Peter Brown. “We’re excited to welcome residents to explore the park and look forward to its growth in the years ahead.”

Activities: Walking trail exploration, s’mores by the fire, family friendly activities and food trucks with food available for purchase.
Phase 1A of the park, completed at the end of 2024, focuses on passive recreation. Future phases will expand the park’s offerings, adding sports fields, cultural spaces and more community amenities. The park’s official name is expected to be chosen in 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to honour the heritage of the land.
