Through one-on-one advising, you’ll identify long-term strategies to address your greatest needs and assist you as you navigate surviving and thriving in the current economic conditions.

Whether you’re dealing with lasting challenges from the pandemic, struggling to identify the next growth opportunity for your business, or looking to improve your work-life balance, Right for Your Business may be right for you.

The program is open to all Airdrie storefront businesses that hold a valid City of Airdrie business licence.

Applications for the first intake period will be accepted until July 14, with the second intake opening in the fall.

Assistance may be provided in several areas of expertise including:

  • Business strategy and planning – changing, pivoting, growing and resilience
  • Financial planning, management and cashflow
  • Human resources and workforce
  • Marketing strategy and planning
  • Legal
  • IT infrastructure
  • Work-life balance and wellness

Negotiating Commercial Leases & Renewals: With Jeff  Grandfield from The Lease Coach

When: Monday, June 10, 9 – 10:30 a.m.
Where: Council Chambers, City Hall
Cost: Free
Ticket Options: Group session only or add-on a zero-cost one-on-one consult to the group session.

Fill out the program application

To apply, complete the application form linked below and submit it from now until July 14. A second intake period will begin in the fall.

Once submitted, your application will be reviewed to ensure program eligibility. Application reviews and program intakes will be completed on an ongoing basis. Applications will be processed in the order they are received, and acceptance timelines may vary, depending on the volume of applications submitted and on expert availability. Successful applicants will remain in the support queue until advising capacity is available.

Program intake interview

Once you are accepted into the program, you will complete a 10-minute needs assessment phone interview to discuss what kind of advising and support would help set your business up for long-term success.

From goal-setting, to business planning, to strategy execution, various kinds of supports are available. The intake interview will help identify what knowledge, skills or expertise are required to help you meet your business goals.

Book and complete your advising sessions

You will receive instructions on how to book your 1:1 sessions and be given a timeline to complete them. 

Working with a business professional, you will now develop goals, strategies and an action plan to address your identified areas of focus.

About the Right For Your Business program

Launched by Airdrie Economic Development in 2020 to support businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the third iteration of the Right for Your Business program. In 2021, the Right for Your Business voucher program helped more than 80 local businesses. This year, the program will connect business owners with experts to provide free individualized advice based on the business’ greatest needs. Participants will develop actionable plans to help them reach their short-term goals and ensure long-term sustainability for the future.
