Air and water monitoring

The Ambient Air Monitoring Station located on the North side of Chinook Winds Park in the City of Airdrie is responsible for monitoring the air quality in the region and surrounding neighbourhoods. The station is operated by the Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CRAZ), which also runs all of the air monitoring stations in Calgary.

The Airdrie station checks for things in the air, like chemicals, wind speed and direction, temperature and humidity.

The Water Services department uses water quality sonde devices at the north and south borders of the City to monitor Nose Creek's health. These devices contain sensors that measure various parameters like temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and conductivity to gather environmental data.
