AIRDRIE, AB – A portion of Main Street between 1 Ave NW and Allen St SE will be closed from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024, for the Canada Day Parade. No parking signs will go up on this route at 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2024, to have the route cleared and available for barricading for the parade the following morning.
Alberta Health Services (AHS) Urgent Care Centre at 604 Main St SE will remain open on this day with access via alternate routes from 7 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The alternate routes are as below:
These alternate routes will access the facility parking lot from the alley at the back of the building. Access to Towerlane Mall will be available from 1st St. You can also view the Canada Day Parade route map for information on road closure and alternate routes.
On Thursday, June 27, 2024, the City of Airdrie moved to a fire advisory alert that allows the Canada Day fireworks to proceed. The fireworks will take place at Chinook Winds Regional Park at 10:45 p.m. on July 1 and will be visible from multiple locations in Airdrie. Everyone is encouraged to view the fireworks visibility radius map to avoid traffic congestion around the park.
