To best serve our community, it is important to understand who lives in Airdrie. This can help us make sound, evidence-based decisions to meet the needs of our residents. To this end, Social Planning has compiled demographic information into a pair of informative fact books about our city. These Comparative Community Profiles are created using data from the Federal Census (e.g., the 2021 Census of Population), and accessed through the Community Data Program.
The first shows a comparison of Airdrie in 2016 and Airdrie in 2021 (the Census of Population is conducted every five years). It is designed to help understand how our community is changing as we continue to grow.
The second is a comparison of Airdrie to Calgary. It is designed to help us contrast our community to our largest neighbour.
