The Airdrie Fire Department offers several fire safety programs throughout the year to help the community learn about fire prevention and education.
Fire Preventon Week occurs annually during the second week of October. Throughout the week, the Airdrie Fire Department provides educational opportunities to engage our schools and community in conversations about fire and burn prevention. Educating the public on what they can do everyday, not only prevents damage caused by fires – it prevents injuries and saves lives.
To wrap up the week, we host a Fire Safety Day at Chinook Winds Fire Station. If you haven't been inside a fire station before, this is your chance. They'll be lots of fun for everyone.
Each year, grade four students are invited to enter the Junior Fire Chief contest with a 50 word essay about keeping your family fire safe.
