Inspire will be a hub for Airdrie's emerging arts scene. In addition to two permanent public art pieces, Inspire will feature regular art exhibits for public appreciation.
On July 2, 2024, Council endorsed two public art concepts and artists teams recommended by Inspire's Public Art Selection Panel. This panel worked to narrow down 96 submissions to just four finalist artists and artist teams. From May 27 to June 2, 2024, public feedback on the four proposals was gathered and provided to the Public Art Selection Panel as they deliberated and selected the recommended finalists for Council to endorse. An exterior installation symbolizing the connection between Mother Earth and Father Sky through a sculptural tipi. The seven poles, each adorned with Blackfoot pictographs, represent the seven generations practice and the seven local tribes. This landmark honors Indigenous heritage, promotes community values and celebrates unity.

A swirling cloud of stories floating up into Inspire's atrium. Inside each bubble is a landscape, artfully crafted to reflect stories nominated by Airdrie residents.
Inspire will feature rotating temporary 2D and 3D art exhibits in its exhibition space and multi-purpose rooms for public viewing.
The selection of works for these spaces will be managed by a Community Art Selection Committee. Individuals interested in participating in the curation process or submitting their work for placement consideration in Inspire's rotational art spaces, are encouraged to contact the City's Public Art Specialist to learn more.
